Summary of activities

The research activity of the General Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, Neurosurgery and Other Surgical Specialties group encompasses several research lines related to different surgical disciplines and is reflected in several publications indexed in the international scientific literature. Among its main objectives are to contribute to a better understanding, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of thoracic neoplasms, as well as to facilitate the translation of these advances into clinical practice. The group is also committed to the development and implementation of innovative surgical techniques aimed at improving treatment strategies and patient outcomes.

Contributions to society

All scientific activities carried out by the General Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, Neurosurgery and Other Surgical Specialties group are directly focused on benefiting patients and society. The group performs extensive surgical activity using state-of-the-art robotic and minimally invasive surgical techniques, with a particular focus on oncological diseases. In addition, the group actively participates in multidisciplinary research studies, many of which are centred on cancer research, with the aim of improving clinical outcomes and advancing standards of care.
