Preventive Medicine, Public Health and Primary Care Associated Group

Summary of activities

The group aims to contribute to the delivery of personalised healthcare through the application of epidemiological and public health strategies. Its activities focus on Epidemiology, Health Protection and Health Promotion, Disease Prevention, the improvement of individual and population health, Patient Safety, and the enhancement of Healthcare Quality. Group members participate in a range of teaching activities at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The group also promotes activities related to research ethics, scientific integrity principles and Good Research Practices. In addition, its members actively participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching activities.

Contributions to society

The Preventive Medicine, Public Health and Primary Care Group is strongly oriented towards improving healthcare delivery and public health through the reduction of risks associated with medical care, the optimisation of healthcare resource utilisation, and the promotion of evidence-based practice. The goal of these activities is to provide better care for patients and to improve the health of the community. In addition, the group develops educational and outreach activities related to research ethics, scientific integrity and Good Research Practices. These initiatives aim to ensure that scientific research is conducted to the highest standards of quality and reproducibility, while safeguarding the rights of research participants and maintaining public trust in science and healthcare research.
