The Gastroeintestinal Tumor Unit of the Fundación Jiménez Díaz University Hospital aims to provide comprehensive, high-quality care to patients diagnosed with tumors of the digestive tract. The unit focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of digestive diseases, covering the following areas: esophagogastric tumors, pancreatic cancer, biliary tract tumors, hepatocellular carcinoma, small intestine malignancies, colorectal tumors, and neuroendocrine tumors.

The team follows a multidisciplinary approach, with medical oncologists, surgeons, radiation oncologists, gastroenterologists, hepatologists, pathologists, geneticists, radiologists, interventional radiologists, endocrinologists, and nuclear medicine specialists working together towards an holistic patient care. We also have support from specialized nursing staff and a dedicated team for research and clinical trials.

One of the fundamental pillars of the unit—beyond providing high-quality and up-to-date clinical care—is the development of new therapies. We offer a wide range of clinical trial options designed to make the latest advances in precision and advanced therapies available to our patients. The team is also actively involved in a large number of observational studies and translational research projects to continue advancing the understanding of the molecular basis of these tumors.
