Admissions
To ensure both the operation procedure and the recovery process are efficient and safe, the following indications should be followed whenever a patient is admitted for surgery.
Please note that the indications shown here are for general information only. Your medical team will give you specific guidelines, which will take precedence over these general instructions. Be sure to check these procedures with staff.
We will be more than happy to inform you. All patients admitted to the centre must provide proof of identity and their medical insurance company or Social Security card, along with all relevant medical reports (this is particularly important when being admitted for the first time).
Once all formalities have been completed at the Admissions Desk, the patient will be attended to and cared for by our healthcare professionals, whose instructions must be followed at all times in order to ensure the hospital stay is as satisfactory as possible.
Before the operation
If you feel any discomfort in the days leading up to the operation (e.g. high temperature, pain, etc.), please call the centre for further instructions.
The day before
Patients are required to attend on an empty stomach (no eating, drinking or smoking for 6 hours before surgery). Do not take aspirin in the 24 hours prior to surgery, and check with your doctor before taking any other medication.
On the day of surgery
Shower and bring comfortable clothes. Do not use aftershave, eau de cologne, perfume, nail polish or make-up. Do not forget your personal and medical documents. Adults may be accompanied by one other person, while children may be accompanied by two adults.
After surgery
Patients must remain in the designated area and under the care of our healthcare professionals until the physician authorises their discharge. Prior to discharge, patients will be given instructions to follow at home to ensure a successful recovery (diet, medication, activity, etc.). Arrange to have someone accompany you when returning home. Remember that you will not be able to drive.
Once at home
For your peace of mind and comfort, we advise having someone accompany you for 24 hours following the procedure. Do not exert yourself physically. Do not drink alcohol until you are fully recovered. And do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or suffer any complications.
We are here to serve you.
