Anaesthesiology, Resuscitation and chronic pain unit
The surgical area has 18 modern operating rooms (in addition to the three operating rooms in the Outpatient Surgery Unit, OSU) plus an operating room solely for obstetric pathology, as well as a 45-bed Resuscitation Unit. Our modern theatres have two hybrid operating rooms: an operating room equipped with high-field intraoperative magnetic resonance imaging (the only one in the public health system in Spain), in order to optimise the complete removal of brain tumours; an operating room for robotic surgery equipped with the Xi Da Vinci system (the most advanced platform for minimally invasive robotic surgery) in which General Surgery, Urology and Thoracic Surgery interventions have already been performed; and six integrated operating rooms that allow surgery to be broadcast live to any part of the world. The rest of the operating rooms are multipurpose and can be used for any surgical speciality.
