The Clinical Microbiology Department deals directly with diagnosing and treating patients with infectious diseases.

The Clinical Microbiology Department also coordinates the microbiology activities of Quirónsalud Group's public hospitals in Madrid, and is a referral centre for microbiological diagnosis for other Quirónsalud Group centres around Spain.

It carries out research activity at the Health Research Institute with different priority lines of research.
