The Social Work Unit is a service specialised in attending to our patients' social problems. The hospitalisation process is a critical period for patients and their families, and is often experienced with anguish and uncertainty. It frequently coincides with an abrupt, important change in quality of life after hospitalisation, either due to sequelae or to the change from being an autonomous person to a temporary or permanent dependent person.

Our social work unit is on hand to evaluate and diagnose social risk situations for our patients and their families, plan appropriate interventions, and advise on administrative procedures around any benefits or resources the patient might require.
