Fundación Jiménez Díaz’s Radiology System includes the following in its main building and its Peripheral Speciality Centres:

  • 6 Magnetic Resonance Scanners (3 Teslas; 1.5 Teslas and 1 intraoperative MRI)
  • 3 Computed Tomographs (Dual energy and 256 detectors)
  • 4 Digital Mammographs (3D Tomosynthesis)
  • 12 High-end ultrasound scanners.
  • 9 Direct Digital Radiology Rooms.
  • 4 Digital angiographs.
  • 2 Hybrid Operating Rooms.
  • Prona table for breast biopsies.

Techniques and procedures:

Radiologists at Fundación Jiménez Díaz use advanced imaging technology, which in many cases is available in very few medical centres and is key to ensuring you receive an accurate diagnosis and treatment. More recently, Fundación Jiménez Díaz was one of the first to install intraoperative MRI to guide the surgeon in removing brain tumours and other abnormalities during surgery. Thanks to its availability in the operating room, it is a tool that transforms the surgical procedure by improving precision.

Innovative therapies are an integral part of the Radiology Department at Fundación Jiménez Díaz. For example, electroporation for inoperable pancreatic tumours is a minimally invasive treatment that involves the precise insertion of needles into the tumour, emitting controlled electrical discharges that selectively eradicate tumour cells while preserving the surrounding supportive tissue. Fundación Jiménez Díaz’s Radiology Department has recently been performing this procedure with much success.

Jiménez Díaz Foundation provides a comprehensive range of services from the Spanish Medical Radiology Society's catalogue of radiological examinations, particularly those requiring cutting-edge technology, such as:
